Presenting some of the most memorable and enduring songs of the 1960’s

Doors 6 pm, Band at 7:30 pm

Duke of George presents

Icons of the 60’s: Bacharach, Mancini, Jobim and more!

Adrian Galante (USA/AUS) feat. Victoria Newton

Adrian Galante (USA/AUS) with special guest singer Victoria Newton, presents some of the most memorable and enduring songs of the 1960’s.

Running parallel to the explosion of Rock n’ Roll, the 1960’s also produced a sophisticated cannon of popular songs that dominated the stage and screen.

Songs such as Henry Mancini’s Moon River” from Breakfast at Tiffiny’s, Burt Bacharach’sAlfie”, Antonio Carlos Jobim'sQuiet Nights”, Johnny Mandel’sThe Shadow Of Your Smile” became the musical backdrop to ordinary life and have endured to this very day.

“The young, handsome Galante is a soft-spoken, knowledgeable performer who knows his craft. Galante’s exquisite lyrical playing created an emotionally satisfying close to one of the best sets this reviewer has heard in years.”Andrew Portez, NiteLife Exchange.

“Even though he is as technically proficient as the clarinet will allow.. to Galante, that is not the point. Before playing any songs he learns the lyrics, then “sings” them.. using intervals, shading and vibrato as his “voice”. Galante is definitely a rising star.”Jack Bowers, All About Jazz.
