Alternative rock, pop, R&B
Mihka Chee, a Māori, Chinese, and Pākehā multi-instrumentalist from Aotearoa, joined her first punk band at just 13, departing from her nerdy classical violin and piano roots. With the electrifying pop-rock band Ivy Lies, Mihka stormed the NZ music charts and racked up emerging artist awards with an album recorded in Los Angeles. Now rocking the Australian music landscape, Mihka shines as a solo powerhouse, gracing platforms like Double J, FBi Radio, and FUEL TV's "Surfing Life: Board Bible." Her upcoming EP promises an explosive blend of 90s rock, punk energy, pop hooks, and classical flair with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra’s finest.
Joining Mihka is WCB, a singer-songwriter and producer also originally hailing from Tamaki Makaurau (Auckland), now based out of Sydney's Inner West. With a voice that’s been dubbed “neo-soul” by music reviewers internationally, WCB perfectly blends sultry R&B, electronica, and trip-hop into something fresh and distinct that is truly his own. His live show features floor to ceiling projection work to fully realise his vocal landscapes and pull you deep into a plush and stormy dreamworld. WCB is a rising star with undeniable talent who has featured on BaseFM (NZ), RNZ’s Music 101 (NZ), Bondi Radio (Australia), and FBi Radio (Australia); music blogs UnderTheRadar, AAA Backstage, Happy Mag, The Spinoff Music (NZ), Speaker Ink (UK), Solar Mountain Ridge (UK) Australian Music Scene and FutureMag Music. WCB won the Artistic Merit Category in Newcastle Fringe 2022, and was nominated for Best Music and Best overall performance for his live show of WCB:Sigil. WCB has also recently released his much anticipated EP ‘Moon Boi’.
Ofri is a Sydney-based singer-songwriter whose unashamedly candid lyrics and intricate piano-vocal arrangements form a particular (and peculiar) brand of chamber pop/folk. Inspired by legends of alternative songwriting such as Fiona Apple, Regina Spektor and Sufjan Stevens, Ofri's performances dance dynamically between raw emotionality and heartfelt subtlety. Her debut album That Heavy Magnetism (4/7/24) was described by AAA Backstage as “a must-listen … a rich, musical experience that’s as thought-provoking as it is mesmerising”; part 90s art-pop revivalism, part Lilith Fair, part freak folk, and yet completely, utterly Ofri.
