Altar Bar presents
FREQS & GEEKS: Hosting + Stormworm & La Sauvage
FREQS & GEEKS showcases electronic artists from Lutruwita/Tasmania—emerging, established, and everything between.
A space for the unclassifiable. Hypnotic, chaotic, euphoric, and raw. Textures that swallow you whole.
Hosting crafts his sets from deep-search automation scripts sent digging through the vast binary-encoded-strata that is “The Internet Archive”, contrasted with a considered and thoughtful, deep-listening practice from a stack of weird and rare '90s Dub and Psychedelic Techno CDs, which he inherited from his late father's vast collection. Through an approach that merges discovery with nostalgia, digital and physical elements, and the obscure with the familiar, he assembles deeply personal and diaristic sets.
Haunting vocal melodies and French spoken word passages reverberating over electronic pulses and synth passages. Stormworm and Sauvage is the experimental electronic music project of lutruwita/Tasmania based visual artist/ musician/ performers David Fooks (Stormworm) and Edith Perrenot (La Sauvage).
